Pregnant woman killed in ‘cross firing’ in Shadimarg: Police

Srinagar, Oct 19: Police on Friday said that a woman was killed in cross firing in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

SP Pulwama ChandanKholi said that militants fired a UBGL grenade towards army camp in Shadimarg.

Soon after the blast, there was an exchange of fire for some time, he said, adding that in the cross firing the woman, identified as Firdousa wife of Khursheed Ahmad Sheikh of Qasbayar, Shadimarg, received serious bullet injury.

She was taken to PHC Rajpora where from she was referred to the district hospital, however, she succumbed to injuries there.

A senior doctor at district hospital Pulwama said that the woman was pregnant having six months foetus.
