Police registers case over ‘anti-national slogans’ raised in DeM function

Srinagar, Mar 23: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Friday said that a case has been registered into a programme organised by Dukhtaran-e-Millat in Srinagar, in which “anti-national slogans” were allegedly raised.
“It has come to the notice of the police about certain unlawful acts of DeM outfit through social media videos and other reliable sources where they have indulged in acts inviting penal provisions for offences under various sections of UA (P) Act,” said a spokesman, in a statement.
“They have also raised anti-national slogans and have given hate/provocative speech thereby inviting charges under various sections of penal code.”
“Police has taken cognizance into the matter and a case has been registered in this regard at police station Soura and investigation set into motion.”
DeM had organised a function to commmemorate “Pakistan Day” in Srinagar on Friday morning.
