Police Crackdown on drug peddlers continues

Srinagar, Dec 17: In a major crackdown on the drug trade, Srinagar Police attached movable property worth ₹20 lakh belonging to two alleged drug peddlers from Downtown Srinagar.

According to police, the attached assets include two vehicles reportedly acquired through proceeds from the sale of illegal drugs. The accused have been identified as Altaf Ahmad Shah alias Pacha, a resident of Dalal Mohalla, and Rakib Ahmad Dar, a resident of Rajouri Kadal. Both are facing charges under FIR No. 48/2024 and FIR No. 51/2024, registered under Section 8/21 of the NDPS Act at Police Station MR Gunj.

The attachment was carried out in compliance with Section 68-F of the NDPS Act, following due legal procedures. Authorities emphasized that the action is part of an intensified campaign to dismantle the financial backbone of the drug trade in Srinagar. Police have reiterated their commitment to eradicating the drug menace from society through sustained operations and property seizures.
