Photojournalist injured after forces thrash media persons at Pulwama

Srinagar:  A photojournalist was injured when security forces swooped on a group  of media persons when  they were covering an ongoing gunfight at Marwal village in Pulwama district.

Kamran Yousuf  suffered injuries in his right leg and arm and has been shifted to SMHS hospital for treatment.

Kamran told The Kashmir Monitor that he was thrashed by forces when he was discharging his professional duties.

 “We were covering an ongoing gunfight at Marwal, Kakapora in Pulwama, when security forces started thrashing me along with other two other photojournalists,“ he said.

Kamran was earlier detained in 2017 by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) for seven months.
