SRINAGAR, NOVEMBER 16: The PHDCCI Kashmir region held an Executive Committee (EC) meeting chaired by Vicky Shaw, with Co-Chairs Javaid Amin and Himayu Wani also in attendance. The meeting focused on appointing Convenors and Co-Convenors for various empowered expert committees to drive growth and development in the upcoming presidential year. Among the notable appointments were Er. Syed Pervaiz Qaiser as Convenor for the Industrial Affairs and MSME Committee, with Er. Bilal Bhat and Shabir Abdullah as Co-Convenors. Dr. M. Y. Kawoosa was appointed Convenor for the Health and Medical Education Committee, with Javaid Anim as Co-Convenor. For the Direct and Indirect Taxation Committee, Himayu Wani was named Convenor, with Mushtaq Ahmad Mir and CA Anil Sharma as Co-Convenors.
In the Tourism, Film, Sports, Golf, and Environment Committee, Nasir Shah will serve as Convenor, supported by Faisal Simon and Tahir Wani as Co-Convenors. The Agriculture, Horticulture, and Allied Agriculture Committee will be led by Fayaz Ahmad Bhat as Convenor, with Ubair Shah, Nasir Kawoosa, and Rouhaan Rafiq as Co-Convenors. Er. Rakesh Jinsi was named Convenor for the Education, Skill Development, and Vocational Training Committee, with Shahid Khan and Er. Owais Raja as Co-Convenors. Sajad Shah will serve as Convenor for the Handicraft and Textile Committee, with Showket Mirani as Co-Convenor, while Haleem Bhat was appointed Convenor for the Infrastructure, Real Estate, Housing, and Urban Development Committee, supported by Shabir Abdullah as Co-Convenor.
The Information Technology Committee will be led by Madeena Mir as Convenor, with Arshad Shawl and Yasir Kazmi as Co-Convenors. Qaiser Mir was named Convenor for the Power and Renewable Energy Committee, with Fayaz Bhat as Co-Convenor. An exciting development during the meeting was the launch of the SHE Forum, a women’s wing of PHDCCI, which will be led by Madeena Mir with Co-Convenors Qaiser and Zainab Syed, reflecting a strong commitment to empowering women in business and leadership roles.
The meeting also featured esteemed guests such as Dr. Rekha Modi, Founder and President of Stree Shakti – The Parallel Force. Dr. Modi announced a groundbreaking women empowerment event in collaboration with PHDCCI, scheduled for April at SKICC, aimed at highlighting and elevating women’s contributions across sectors. Dr. Niraj Mattoo, along with Farzana Mumtaz, Editor and Treasurer of the Press Club of Kashmir, and Dr. Quratulain, District Ayush Trainer, announced a joint health camp to serve marginalized and underprivileged communities, underscoring PHDCCI’s commitment to social responsibility and accessible healthcare. Dr. Tariq Bhat, CMO of SMHS, also graced the event, reinforcing the importance of collaborative efforts in enhancing healthcare services in the region. These initiatives, along with the strategic appointments made during the meeting, underscore PHDCCI Kashmir’s dedication to fostering growth, innovation, and inclusivity within the region’s business and social landscape.
