Srinagar: The PIL filed in the Supreme Court by Private School Association, Jammu and Kashmir (PSAJK) demanding the restoration of 4G connectivity is set to be heard on Tuesday.

The Association had filed a petition in the apex court two weeks ago and it was first listed on April 9. However, it was postponed and has now been scheduled for April 21.

The PSAJK is an association of over 2,200 schools across Jammu & Kashmir and the plea has been preferred challenging Government Orders dated 18.01.2020, 24.01.2020, 26.03.2020, 03.04.2020, and 15.04.2020 which led to the imposition of restriction on Internet Speed.

PSAJK president, G N Var said: “Government on one hand directs to conduct online classes but on the other hand, are not providing internet connectivity to our children.”

“Our children have already lost the academic year. When the whole world is switching to online classes why is this discrimination happening with our children? Why the government is curbing the right to education of our students, which is their fundamental right,” he said.

He said that they hope that Supreme Court will do justice with the students of Kashmir.
