Omar releases 1.30 lakh to help poor girl held with major Gogoi

Srinagar, May 25: Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and MLA Beerwah, Omar Abdullah on Friday released Rs 1.30 lakh in favour of Kawoosa girl’s poor father to help in the construction of their house.
The girl was in news recently after being held with army major Leetul Gogoi at a hotel in Srinagar.
“Our local party office bearers have visited Check Kawoosa area of Beerwah. After a firsthand report & finding the family living in extreme poverty & living in a tin shed, Mr @OmarAbdullah has released an amount of 1.30 lakh in favour of Gh. Mohd Wani for construction of the house,” Political Secretary to Abdullah, Tanvir Sadiq tweeted.
Sadiq also shared a letter issued to the Deputy Commissioner Budgam regarding the release of constituency development fund in favour of Ghulam Mohammad Wani, son of Habibullah Wani, resident of Chek-e-Kawoosa, Narbal.
“This may please be done on the same pattern as is being done under the IAY/PMAY scheme,” read the letter.
