NSSO Anantnag holds camp for self-compilation of returns

ANANTNAG: National Sample Survey (Field Operations Division), Sub Regional Office Anantnag today organized a one-day self-compilation of returns on Annual Survey of Industries 2022-23 at Sub Regional office Anantnag.
This camp was organized to sensitize the business associations about self-compilation of statistical return by the business entities. A session of hand holding training was organized in which Senior Statistical Officers from Srinagar/Anantnag gave the training to Industrial units falling in District Pulwama/ Anantnag in Sub Regional Office Anantnag District.
The conference was inaugurated by Shabir Ahmad Malik Incharge NSO (FOD) Sub Regional office Anantnag. In his inaugural speech a broad overview about objectives / scope/ coverage on the Annual survey of industries were highlighted
Further, Shabir Ahmad Malik in his speech address spoke about the inception of Annual Survey of Industries since 1960 and told that it was previously conducted under the collection of Statistics Act 1953. He further added that presently the survey is conducted under the collection of Statistics Act, 2008 as amended in 2017 under the rules framed there under in 2011, Incharge also addressed that ASI is designed to obtain comprehensive and detailed data with the objective of estimating the contribution of Registered Manufacturing Sector as a whole to the Gross Domestics Product (GDP) of the country.
The conference was attended by around of 30 representatives from various Industrial Units of District Pulwama and Anantnag where there is maximum concentration of Industrial Units. Conference was also attended by Senior Statistical Officers of Regional office Srinagar and Sub Regional Office Anantnag who are presently engaged in the field work of ASI. The overall coordination/ comparing of this Camp was done by Shabir Ahmad Malik, Mohd Sultan Bhat. Tariq Ahmad Tanga and Mohd Amin Wani Sr. Statistical Officers NSSO(FOD) Sub Regional Office Anantnag about self- compilation training to Industrial Units. At last vote of thanks was also presented by Mohd Amin Wani who appreciated the representatives of the industrial units/ establishment for accepting the invitation to this conference for self-compilation of the ASI returns.
