Non-local woman among 10 die of COVID-19 in J&K, toll 537

Srinagar: Ten more patients who were tested positive for COVID-19 died on Saturday, thus taking the number of deaths due to the virus in Jammu and Kashmir to 537.

An official said that the ten patients who died include a 28-year-old woman from Marheng Pulwama, a 25-year-old woman from Sopore, a 62-year-old man from Simbal Jammu, a 50-year-old man from RS pora Jammu, a 78-year-old woman from Shalteng Srinagar, a 52-year-old woman from West Bengal, a 70-year-old woman from Kralpora Kupwara, a 65- year-old woman from Hajin Bandipora, a 40-year-old woman from Sari Dangerpora Sumbal Bandipora, and a 55-year-old woman from Tengpora Ganderbal.

An official said that a patient from Pulwama was tested positive after her death at CD hospital while as patient from Ganderbal admitted on 10 August at SKIMS died on Saturday.

An official from Baramulla said that a 25-year-old woman who was admitted at SMHS on 14 August died on Saturday.

Another official from Bandipora said that the patient from Hajin was admitted on August 08 at SKIMS with multiple ailments while as a patient from Dangerpora Sumbal was declared positive after her death.

An official from Kupwara said that a patient from West Bengal was admitted on August 13 and was declared positive after her death while as patient from Kralpora Kupwara was admitted on 12 August and died on Saturday.

An official from Srinagar said that a patient from Shalteng who was admitted few days before at JVC Bemina with Pneumonia and respiratory failure died on Saturday.

An official from GMC Jammu said that a patient from Sumbal was admitted on 13 August with altered sensorium and other ailments was tested positive after his death.

He added that a patient from RS pora was brought dead to GMC and was also tested positive after his death.

With 10 more deaths, the death toll in J&K has reached to 537 including 496 from Kashmir division and 41 from Jammu division.
