No Facebook, no Google: Here is the domain that dethroned top websites in 2021

Chinese TikTok has dethroned Facebook, Google, and WhatsApp to become the top domain, US security firm Cloudfare said. 

TikTok ranked seventh on Cloudflare’s list in 2020 but jumped to the top spot this year, superseding Google and Facebook in the process. 

Internet traffic has grown exponentially during the pandemic and Internet applications, be they websites, IoT devices or mobile apps, continue to evolve throughout the year, depending on if they attract human beings.

Here are the internet traffic-related top 10 most popular websites of 2021:

The list is derived from Cloud-flare’s public DNS resolver 1.1.1.1, “so it’s not related to the number of unique users or visitors it gets per month,” according to the company.
