Naval Chief in Kashmir on 3-day visit

Srinagar, July 22: Admiral Sunil Lanba, Chairman Chiefs of Staff Committee (COSC) and Chief of Naval Staff
(CNS) arrived in Srinagar on Sunday on a three day visit to the Valley and was received by Lt Gen AK Bhatt,
Chinar Corps Commander at Badami Bagh Cantonment.
The Chairman COSC and CNS was given an update by the Chinar Corps Commander on the prevailing security
situation in the Valley and briefed about the various activities and initiatives undertaken by the Chinar Corps.
The Chinar Corps Commander particularly apprised the Naval Chief about the joint efforts of the Army and
Marine Commandos in undertaking relentless counter militancy operations in the Wular Lake region.
The Chairman COSC and the Naval Chief complimented the Chinar Corps for ensuring a secure environment
in the State and expressed his satisfaction over the people-friendly initiatives of the Chinar Corps.
Later in the day, the Chief of Naval Staff called upon the Governor of J&K, NN Vohra and discussed various
issues.
