Srinagar: Sajad Kawoosa, an engineer currently posted with the Srinagar Municipal Corporation, was conferred a prestigious award at Bakshi Stadium on the eve of Republic Day in recognition of his exemplary public service and professional dedication.
Known for his problem-solving skills and prompt response to challenges, Kawoosa has an impressive track record in the execution of critical infrastructure projects. His contributions include the timely construction of the District Court Complex in Pulwama, the Court Complex in Damhal, the IPD Hospital in Pulwama, the Unani Hospital and Unani Medical College in Ganderbal, as well as shopping complexes in Tangmarg and Anantnag.
Kawoosa’s expertise has also proved crucial on several occasions at Bakshi Stadium. His role was notably appreciated during a previous visit of the Prime Minister to Srinagar, when he successfully managed the dewatering of the waterlogged stadium, enabling the programme to proceed smoothly. Demonstrating similar efficiency, he once again resolved severe waterlogging at the venue on January 23, 2026, ahead of the Republic Day .
Throughout his career, Kawoosa has consistently handled complex situations with commitment and zeal, earning wide appreciation for his contribution to public welfare and the strengthening of urban infrastructure.
