Modi Govt crippled terror eco-system: HM

New Delhi: Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah chaired a security review meeting on Jammu and Kashmir in New Delhi today. Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha, the Union Home Secretary, Director (IB), Chief Secretary and Director General of Police of Jammu and Kashmir, heads of Central Armed Police Forces and other senior officers were present at the meeting.

The Union Home Minister said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government of India is committed to establishing lasting peace in Jammu and Kashmir and completely eliminating terrorism. Reiterating the policy of zero tolerance against terrorism, he said that sustained and coordinated efforts of the government have significantly crippled the terror ecosystem in the region.

Amit Shah appreciated the efforts of the security agencies in strengthening the security scenario in Jammu and Kashmir. He stated that counter-terror operations targeting terrorist infrastructure and terror financing must continue in a mission mode.

The Union Home Minister directed all security agencies to remain vigilant and continue working in close coordination to ensure that the gains achieved after the abrogation of Article 370 are sustained and the goal of a terror-free Jammu and Kashmir is achieved at the earliest. He assured that all necessary resources would be made available to support this effort.
