Srinagar, November 15: Mirwaiz Umar Farooq Friday sounded the alarm on the growing number of vehicular accidents in Kashmir, calling for both parental caution and government action to address the issue.

Speaking at the historic Jamia Masjid, Mirwaiz expressed grave concern over the alarming rise in traffic accidents, highlighting the tragic loss of young lives.

Mirwaiz emphasized the need for parents to be cautious when providing vehicles to young individuals, particularly motorcycles and cars, which are often used recklessly at high speeds. “Parents must be wary of granting their children access to bikes and cars that they speed on, endangering their own lives and others,” he said.

Mirwaiz criticized the government’s lack of seriousness in addressing the traffic issue, pointing out that many young people ride motorcycles and scooters at high speeds without helmets, risking severe injuries or fatalities.

Mirwaiz urged authorities to take stringent measures to ensure compliance with traffic regulations and promote road safety awareness.
