Mir Ghulam Rasool Nazki remembered

Srinagar, May 13: To remember late Mir Ghulam Rasool Nazki, a prominent literary figure of the State, a function was organized here at DIPR auditorium on Sunday.

The function was organized by Kashmir Musical Club and Nazki Foundation in collaboration with Department of Information and Public Relations and JK Academy of Art Culture and Languages, Srinagar.

A good number of literary personalities of the Valley, officers from DIPR, Cultural Academy besides a galaxy of media persons, artists, broadcasters which included Farooq Nazki, G.N. Khayal, Suhail Wani, Syed Shujaat Bukhari, Dr Altaf Hussain, Dr Farooq Kaloo and Huzaifa Pandit were present in the function.

A book “Satisar” the valley of Demons by Ayaz Rasool Nazki was also released on the occasion.

The speakers shed light on the personal life as well as literary journey of late Nazki and termed it a source of inspiration for new and coming generations.

Besides holding of panel discussion on the topic Mir Ghulam Rasool Nazki’s relevance in present times Kalami Nazki was presented by the famous artists of Information Department, Muneer Ahmad Mir followed by Sufiyani Kalam of Nazki by Ustad Mohmad Yaqoub Sheikh and party.

Welcome address was presented by Ayaz Rasool Nazki while vote of thanks by Syed Abdul Waheed Jeelani besides anchoring by Mohammad Amin Bhat.
