Bengaluru, April 18: A 35-year-old man, Praveen Gowda Belur, died by suicide near Anekal on the outskirts of Bengaluru after posting a video on Facebook, accusing several individuals of prolonged mental and physical harassment.
In the video, Belur named Kiran Gowda, Harish, Bhaskar Narayanappa, Doddahagade Madhu Gowda, and Saravana as those responsible for mentally harassing him over the past two months. He directly held Kiran Gowda accountable for his suffering and urged authorities not to spare him. He further alleged that a man named Krishna Gowda was involved in routinely harassing women through phone calls.
Belur also leveled serious allegations against BJP Mandal president Muniraju Gowda, local councillor Bhagyamma, and her husband Srinivas, claiming they physically assaulted him. He said he was called to Muniraju’s residence under the pretext of discussing financial matters, where Bhagyamma and Srinivas allegedly summoned a group that beat him for nearly two hours and took his phone.
Following the video, Belur was found hanging from a tree near a school in Anekal. Police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
