Srinagar, Oct 25: A high-level security review meeting was convened in Srinagar on October 25, under the leadership of RR Bhatnagar, Advisor to the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir. This meeting was conducted in response to the ongoing Israel-Hamas conflict and aimed to assess the security situation in the region.

The meeting, described as a “Joint Security Review Meeting,” was held at BB Cantonment in Srinagar. Lieutenant General Upendra Dwivedi, the Commander of the Army’s Northern Command, was present as well. It brought together key figures from various intelligence agencies, security forces, and representatives from the Union Territory.

One of the key topics of discussion during the meeting was the security situation in the context of the Middle East conflict. Participants deliberated on strategies to bolster the Counter-Insurgency/Counter-Terrorism (CI/CT) efforts in preparation for the upcoming winter season.

A spokesperson from the Chinar Corps mentioned that “DGP J&K and #ChinarCorps Cdr along with heads of Intelligence Agencies & Security Forces representatives from UT were in attendance.” The focus of their discussions was to review the prevailing security conditions, particularly in light of the ongoing Middle East conflict, and to outline actions aimed at enhancing the CI/CT grid as the region approaches the winter season.

This comprehensive security review underscores the importance of preparedness and vigilance, especially in regions with complex security dynamics like Jammu and Kashmir. As the winter season approaches, maintaining a robust security framework becomes a critical priority to ensure the safety and stability of the region.
