Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha and Chief Minister Omar Abdullah have expressed deep sorrow over the tragic loss of lives in Ramban district following flash floods and landslides caused by continuous heavy rainfall.
LG Sinha conveyed his condolences to the bereaved families, stating, “Deeply anguished by the tragic loss of precious lives due to flash floods triggered by incessant rain in Ramban. My heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families in this hour of grief.”
He assured that rescue and relief operations are underway. “District administration, SDRF, and other rescue teams are on the ground to ensure swift assistance. All possible help is being extended to the affected families,” he said.
Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also expressed his grief, saying, “Extremely anguished by the tragic landslide and flash flood in Ramban. My thoughts are with the affected families in this difficult hour. We are in close coordination with the local administration to support rescue efforts on priority.”
He added that a review of restoration and relief plans would be conducted later in the day. “For now, the focus remains on managing the situation on the ground. Citizens are urged to follow travel advisories and avoid non-essential movement in vulnerable zones,” he advised.
