KPDCL urges consumers to update power agreements based on actual usage

KPDCL scaled 1 1

Srinagar, March 1: Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has urged consumers to update their power agreements in accordance with their actual electricity load.

In recent social media posts ahead of Ramadhan, KPDCL clarified that ongoing inspections by their teams are not intended to harass anyone but rather to raise awareness about responsible energy consumption.

The corporation also advised residents in metered areas to refrain from illegal power connections. “Avoid switching on all appliances simultaneously,” it stated, urging consumers to revise their agreements based on actual usage.

Meanwhile, authorities have assured that efforts are being made to ensure an uninterrupted power supply during Ramadhan.

The Power Development Department (PDD) is considering reducing power cuts during the holy month, with officials quoted in media reports stating that they will work towards minimizing curtailments, especially during Sehri and Iftar times.

Officials noted that power curtailments, which were in effect during mid-winter, have already been reduced. In areas experiencing additional outages, the department aims to further minimize disruptions during Ramadhan’s key hours.
