Srinagar:Asra Qureshi studied IT, but her first love was entrepreneurship.

When she completed her studies, she did not look for swanky IT campuses for jobs. Instead, she wanted to live her childhood dream.

Come 2017, Kehzabr was born. She started with a modest boutique at Maharaja Bazaar in Srinagar. Four years on, the 28-year-old techie-turned-entrepreneur owns a chain of exclusive stores for women. What stands out for the store is that it is for the girls, by the girls, and of the girls.

“I started this boutique with minimum services of stitching simple suits back in 2017. Now Alhamdulillah we are providing end-to-end services for r brides and other customers,” Asra said.

From providing dress material in-house to customized clothing, this is a complete lady shop where only girls attend to the customers making it one of the few gender-friendly facilities in the valley.

“Kehzabr is one of the promising brands in Srinagar city center. We provide a complete one-stop-shop for brides. We specialize in bridal and wedding dresses,” Asra said. Besides, they are using social media to reach out to their customers.

On Instagram, they have around 40,000 followers. “We get a large number of orders on Instagram. Social media played a very vital role during Covid lockdown,” Asra said.

It has not been an easy journey for Asra. She had her share of pain and tribulations. “For making this brand, I gave up my career. But now, I am happy because my customers are happy,” she said.
