KBC 16: 22-Year-Old Chander Parkash Becomes First Crorepati on Amitabh Bachchan’s Show

Amitabh Bachchan-hosted Kaun Banega Crorepati has its first crorepati of the season. In the latest episode of the show, 22-year-old contestant Chander Parkash from Jammu and Kashmir won the grand prize of Rs 1 crore.

The makers of the show shared the celebration of Chander Parkash’s victory with fans. During the episode, Amitabh Bachchan asked a challenging geography question to the young contestant: “The largest city in which country is not its capital but a port with an Arabic name meaning ‘abode of peace.’ Options: A) Somalia, B) Oman, C) Tanzania,

After using the ‘Double Dip’ lifeline, Chander answered Tanzania, which was the correct answer.

A promo from the episode featured contestant Chander, who gathered the courage and confidence to take on the Rs 1 crore question. In the history of KBC 16, he became the season’s first crorepati. The legendary actor was overjoyed and couldn’t contain his emotions, giving the young contestant a heartfelt hug and congratulating him on his remarkable win.

Apart from winning the Rs 1 crore prize, Chander also earned a car.

Amitabh Bachchan then presented him with the Rs 7 crore question. “Who was the first recorded child born to English parents in North America in 1587?” As Chander was unsure of the answer and had used all his lifelines, he decided to quit the show. When Amitabh encouraged him to take a guess, he selected option A) Virginia Dare, which turned out to be the correct answer.

The 22-year-old contestant, who has undergone seven surgeries due to a medical condition present since birth, attributed his success on the quiz show to his strategy of eliminating irrelevant options while staying calm and focused, which ultimately led him closer to victory.
