Srinagar, Nov 22:A complete shutdown was Thursday observed in Kashmir on Thursday against the killing of a Tehreek-e-Hurriyat leader Mir Hafizullah, who was shot dead by unknown gunmen on Tuesday at his residence in Achabal area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
All shops and other business establishments were closed while public transport was mainly off the roads in the summer capital and other district headquarters of the valley.
Joint Hurriyat comprising Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik had called for the shutdown on Thursday and protests after congregational prayers on Friday against the killing.
