Kashmir reports first dengue case

Srinagar: Kashmir has reported first case of dengue infection this year.

According to the officials, a 20-year-old boy from Bandipora was tested positive at SKIMS hospital in Srinagar on Tuesday.

Officials said that the boy (name withheld) of Ajar, Bandipora was brought to Sher-e-Kashmir Institute of Medical Sciences (SKIMS) Soura here, complaining of high fever.

“Soon after the patient was tested positive for dengue infection, he was admitted and is being treated at JVC hospital Bemina,” they said, adding the patient had returned from Chandigarh recently.
