Justice at last: Two child rapists sentenced to death

An Odisha court has sentenced two men to death for the rape and murder of a minor in 2014.

A POCSO court in Jagatsinghpur awarded the death penalty to Sheikh Asif and Seikh Akil.

The duo had kidnapped a minor girl who was returning home after buying chocolates. After the rape, they killed her to cover up the crime.

Public prosecutor, Dolagobinda Das said, “Four men were arrested in connection with the rape and murder of a minor girl in 2014. While two were acquitted, the other two were held guilty.”

A total of 27 eyewitnesses have recorded their statements.
