Srinagar, May 03: Joint Hurriyat Leadership of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Yasin Malik in a statement on Thursday said the authorities in J&K have turned the whole valley into a “slaughterhouse”.
The leadership trio lamented at the authorities for “unleashing a reign of terror and un-proportionate and unjustified use of lethal weapons against innocent civilians”.
The leadership, in the statement, announced that they will hold a press conference at Ahdoos Hotel here on May 05.
Terming the killing of teenage student Umar Kumar as most unfortunate and deplorable, the leadership said that they were deeply grieved over the killings of “un-blossomed flowers”.
“We are facing unbridled and arrogant power. We will never forget sacrifices rendered by martyrs. We are duty bound to carry their mission till its logical conclusion. We will never surrender and will pursue the mission of martyrs, despite terror unleashed by brutal authorities,” the Joint Hurriyat said.
