SRINAGAR, AUGUST 25: In a an effort to raise awareness and provide access to government welfare schemes, the J&K Employees State Insurance Society (JKESIS), in collaboration with the Labour & Employment department organized an Awareness Camp cum Registration Drive at Industrial Estate, Zainakote here today.
The initiative was aimed to inform organized workers, daily wage earners and other underserved groups about their rights and entitlements under various social security and labour welfare schemes.
During the camp, on-the-spot registration services were also provided for schemes like PM-SBY, besides information regarding other schemes was also imparted through various pamphlets. The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from local workers, community members, employers.
Speaking on the occasion, Director, JKESIS and Labour Commissioner, J&K, S. Charandeep Singh emphasized on the importance of collaboration between civil society and government institutions in ensuring inclusive development. “This initiative bridges the gap between policy and people. We are committed to supporting marginalized communities by connecting them with the benefits they rightfully deserve”, he said.
Several Insured Persons (IPs) came forward to share their personal journeys and the how the ESI scheme has benefitted them morally and financially in overcoming various day to day problems. The Labour Commissioner also distributed the approved amount of Medical Reimbursement Claim to the IPs amounting to Rs. 45,000/-for the expenditure they had incurred on the treatment of their dependents.
