J&K sees 444 new COVID cases, 8 more deaths, toll nears 400

 Srinagar: Sunday saw 444 new positive cases of Coronavirus – 206 from Jammu division and 238 from Kashmir – being detected in J&K taking the total number of positive cases in Jammu and Kashmir to 21416.

Eight more people in Kashmir who had contracted the infection passed away during the day taking the death toll in the valley to 368 and across J&K to 396.

The deceased included four persons from Srinagar, and one each from Bandipora, Baramulla, Kulgam, and Pulwama districts.

Moreover, 256 more COVID-19 patients have recovered and discharged from various hospitals, 123 from Jammu Division and 133 from Kashmir Division.

According to the official Covid-19 bulletin, out of 21416 positive cases, 7893 are Active Positive, 13127 have recovered.

Out of 6,54,117 test results available, 6,32,701 samples have been tested as negative till August 02.

Additionally, till date 372929 travellers and persons in contact with suspected cases have been enlisted for observation which included 45818 persons in home quarantine including facilities operated by government, 6 in Hospital Quarantine, 7893 in hospital isolation and 40801 under home surveillance. Besides, 278015 persons have completed their surveillance period.
