Srinagar: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha on Monday said that India has firmly drawn a new red line against terrorism, asserting that any attack on the nation’s soil will be treated as an act of war and met with a decisive response.
Addressing the people of Jammu and Kashmir on the occasion of the 77th Republic Day in Jammu, LG Sinha , termed Operation Sindoor a defining moment in India’s national security doctrine, reflecting the country’s unwavering resolve to protect its sovereignty and citizens.
Paying rich tributes to freedom fighters, martyrs, and security personnel, the LG said the supreme sacrifices of the Indian Army, paramilitary forces and Jammu and Kashmir Police continue to safeguard the unity, integrity and security of the nation.
He reiterated that terrorism, whether sponsored from across the border or operating within, will be completely neutralised.
Highlighting the post-2019 transformation of Jammu and Kashmir, the Lieutenant Governor said a new dawn has arrived in the Union Territory, with justice being delivered to terror-affected families and opportunities being created for youth through merit-based recruitment, entrepreneurship and skill development.
He said employment is now being provided to victims of terrorism, not to those associated with it.
The LG also outlined major achievements across sectors, including double-digit economic growth, record infrastructure expansion, improved connectivity through rail and road projects, rapid progress in power generation, reforms in agriculture, industrial growth, tourism revival, education reforms, healthcare expansion and women-led development. He said Mission YUVA has empowered youth through entrepreneurship, while transparent governance and digital reforms have strengthened public service delivery.
Calling upon citizens to remain united against the menace of terrorism and drug abuse, the Lieutenant Governor expressed full faith in the youth of Jammu and Kashmir and appealed to all sections of society to work together for building a peaceful, developed and prosperous Jammu and Kashmir.
He concluded by extending Republic Day greetings to the people and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to inclusive development, peace and progress in the Union Territory.
