Pediatric services of GB Pant hospital shifted to 500-bedded facility at Bemina

SRINAGAR:  Jammu and Kashmir government has decided to shift the entire pediatric services of GB Pant Hospital, Srinagar, to the newly constructed 500 Bedded Children Hospital, Bemina, Srinagar.

The government has also decided to shift Government Chest Disease Hospital to GB Pant hospital.

“Sanction is hereby accorded to shifting of entire pediatric services of GB Pant Hospital Srinagar to newly constructed 500 Bedded Children Hospital Bemina Srinagar, by Principal, GMC Srinagar after assessing the proper functionality of all vital aspects,” Bhupinder Kumar, Secretary to the Government Health & Medical Education Department, in his order.

He said Medicine, Obstetrics, Gynecology, and Surgical Services shall continue along with dispensaries and commercial services at GB Pant Hospital Srinagar as per the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

“ Consequent upon above,  Shifting of Chest Diseases Hospital Srinagar to the GB Pant Hospital Srinagar by Principal Government Medical College, Srinagar. In the matter, a detailed proposal delineating a holistic action plan by Principal Government Medical College Srinagar shall be shared with the Department,” he said.

Kumar said procurement of Machinery and MRI, other Ped1atnc equipment, etc, originally approved for GB Pant Hospital, shall now be · installed at newly constructed Children Hospital Bemina by Managing Director, J&K Medical Supplies Corporation Ltd.

“Utilization of CT  scan machine available at Makeshift DRDO, Hospital Srinagar for Pediatric. Ser1ces at 500 Bedded Children Hospital Bemina Srinagar, by Principal, GMC Srinagar,” the order said.
