Harman, a subsidiary of the Samsung Group, has launched the portable JBL Go 2 speaker in India. The compact Bluetooth speaker is waterproof, and comes in varied colour options. The JBL Go 2 is priced at Rs. 2,999, and is now available at major retail and electronic outlets across India. The speaker is also made available at 350 Samsung brand stores in the country.

The speaker is positioned to be travel friendly, and the box-shaped compact device has IPX7 rating which means it can withstand immersion in up to 1 metre of water for up to 30 minutes. This means that you can take the speaker in the shower, rain, or even near a pool. While minor splashes and dips here and there will cause no harm, prolonged exposure to the swimming pool could be harmful.

With its Bluetooth 4.1 capability, you can connect your smartphone or tablet on the go. It claims to offer 5 hours of playtime on one full charge of its 730mAh rechargeable battery. The battery charge time is slated to be at 2.5 hours.

The portable speaker weighs only 184 grams and the dimensions are at 71.2×86.0x31.6mm. Box contents include a Micro-USB cable, a one-year warranty card, a quick start guide, and a safety guide as well. The JBL Go 2 also has a built-in echo and noise cancelling speakerphone that is intended to offer a clear phone call experience.

The JBL Go 2 comes in 12 colour options like Ash Gray, Icecube Cyan, Seafoam Mint, Lemonade Yellow, Sunkissed Cinnamon, Pearl Champagne, Midnight Black, Deep Sea Blue, Moss Green, Coral Orange, Ruby Red, and Slate Navy.

“We are extremely delighted to introduce the all new JBL GO 2 – this ultra-portable, compact, palm-sized, brightly coloured, waterproof speaker will impress music lovers with its richer and clearer audio output. JBL Go, the earlier version of GO 2, was an instant hit amongst Indian music lovers. Its portability and audio quality has made it to be the perfect companion for any music lover on-the-Go. With the IPX7 technology, we want Indian JBL Go fans to upgrade to the new waterproof version JBL Go 2 and enjoy the upcoming monsoons with rejuvenating music,” Sumit Chauhan, Vice President – Lifestyle Audio, Harman India said in a statement.
