New Delhi: The Union Home Ministry (MHA) handed over the probe of the Jammu Indian Air Force (IAF) station drone attack to the National Investigation Agency (NIA). The probe will involve investigating the cross-border links to the attack that took place over the weekend.

In a first-of-its-kind strike, a drone dropped two bombs at IAF station here, causing minor injuries to two personnel. As reported earlier, two explosive-laded drones crashed into IAF station Jammu at 1.27 am and 1.32 am on Sunday. The NIA and other probe agencies rushed to the spot immediately after the incident.

“Two low-intensity explosions were reported early Sunday morning in the technical area of Jammu Air Force Station. One caused minor damage to the roof of a building while the other exploded in an open area,” the IAF said in a tweet.

In fact, over the past two days following the attack, the security forces have chased away drones in at least two separate incidents in Jammu and Kashmir. The security setup in the UT has been heightened in light of the attacks.
