SRINAGAR, APRIL 25: Imams and Khateebs at all Jammu and Kashmir Waqf Board-managed shrines and mosques today unequivocally condemned the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam during their Friday Khutbas. The coordinated condemnation came as a powerful collective response from the religious leadership across the region.
Addressing the congregations, the Imams strongly denounced the act as cowardly and in complete contradiction to the principles of Islam, which they described as a religion of peace and compassion.
“These cowards have no connection to the religion of Islam,” many Imams declared during their sermons, calling the attack an assault not only on innocent lives but on the very fabric of peace and harmony that Jammu and Kashmir has been striving to rebuild after years of turmoil.
The Friday gatherings saw widespread public support for the Imams’ message. Worshippers raised their voices in solidarity, condemning the brutal assault and expressing unwavering support for national efforts to bring the perpetrators and their supporters to justice.
The message of Waqf Board Chairperson Dr. Darakhshan Andrabi was also conveyed to the congregations. In her statement, Dr. Andrabi denounced the attack in the strongest terms and called for unity against forces attempting to destabilize the region.
Special prayers were held for the deceased victims of the attack, with appeals for peace, justice, and continued communal harmony resonating across the Valley.
