Ignoring Governor’s dictum, 35 employees still attached in various sections at RDD Commissioner’s office

Srinagar, Aug 02: Even as the governor’s directions for the cancelation of attachments in government offices received a prompt response from the subordinate offices across the state, his own power of seat the Civil Secretariat looks to have made fun of the directions, causing a huge embarrassment to not only the Governor himself but also put huge question mark on the accountability in the corridors of power in the secretariat.

Kashmir News Service has learnt from reliable sources that dozens of employees attached in the Rural Development Department in the Civil Secretariat have been retained even after the stern direction of sending them back to their original place of posting came none other than the same secretariat. Sources said that thirty five employees mostly the casual laborers are still working in various offices of the RDD in secretariat triggering a stern protest from the Secretariat Employees Union. The KNS has accessed a list of attached officials who are still glued to secretariat despite standing orders of detachment.

Sources told KNS that the secretariat Employees Union has expressed strong reservation over the continuation of these employees and has urged the Administrative Secretary of the RDD department to send these “Casual laborers” back to their place of posting. In a strong worded letter to Administrative Secretary, the general secretary of the union has expressed shock for what he said, “Handing over the most important assignments to these casual laborers.” The General Secretary has urged Administrative Secretary to cancel the attachments immediately.
