SRINAGAR, APRIL 05: Indian Buildings Congress (J&K Chapter) held an online Webinar on Energy Efficient Buildings in Cold Climatic Conditions of Jammu and Kashmir, under Er. Aamir Ali Chairman Indian Buildings Congress (J&K Chapter). Er Bashir Ahmed Dar, Former Secretary Technical Power Development Department gave a detailed presentation on how to make the buildings energy efficient. He spoke in detail about Thermal Conductivity and Thermal Resistivity of common construction materials and insulation being used in building construction. He also explained about the Thermal Conductance of Building Components and Thermal Bridges and Thermal Breaks. He laid stress on the orientation of buildings for getting maximum solar energy especially during winters. He gave practical examples and suggestions on how to determine the position of Sun for passive house design and Solar Rooftop Potential in J&K and also explained about the certification systems for Green Buildings. Another speaker Er Suhail Qadir, Head Systems Engineer in Qatar Energy and founder Managing Partner of JK Green Technology spoke about Mechanical HRV & IAQ, Occupant Health & Comfort in a Net-Zero passive building and Solar water heaters how solar power can be harnessed.
The Webinar was attended by almost 100 participants, from all over India.
