I-Day: Patriotic fervor grips Kashmir; massive Tiranga rallies held

SRINAGAR, Aug 10: Tiranga rallies were taken out in several districts of the Kashmir valley on Saturday ahead of the Independence Day celebrations.

As part of the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, Tiranga rallies were taken out in many districts of the valley which witnessed huge participation of people. 

The rallies ignited patriotic fervor and it was a vibrant display of national pride as the rallies passed through the district headquarters, they said.

District Administration Bandipora, in collaboration with the Department of School Education, today organized a mega Tiranga Rally from High School Bagh to SK Stadium Bandipora.

The rally witnessed the overwhelming participation of thousands of students from government and private schools, government employees, youth volunteers, and locals. The rally started from Govt. High School Bagh, passed through the Main Market Bandipora and culminated at SK Stadium Bandipora amidst reverberations of patriotic melodies.

Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Shakeel-ul Rehman, ADDC Bandipora M Ashraf Bhat, ADC Umar Shafi Pandith, ACR Shabir Ahmad Wani, Padma Shree Faisal Ali Dar, Chief Education Officer Bandipora, Tehsildar Bandipora, and other senior officers of the District Administration, along with Heads of Institutions of various schools, accompanied the rally up to SK Stadium.

in Shopian, a mega Tiranga Rally under the ‘Meri Maati, Mera Desh’ campaign which was kick-started and joined by ASP Shopian, ADC Shopian, DySP Hqrs Shopian, DySP OPS Keller, DySP DAR DPL Shopian, SHO PS Shopian, Police personnel of District Police Shopian,  Students of different schools also participated in the Tiranga rally.

The rally started at the Sports Stadium Batapora Shopian and culminated at the DPL Shopian. The Rally concluded peacefully at DPL Shopian wherein all participants took a pledge to play their part in building a developed India, to remove any trace of colonial mindset, to strive for the unity and solidarity of the country, to fulfill duties and responsibilities towards the nation, to honor the sacrifice of country’s brave hearts and devote to Nation’s defense.

 Later, the Police organized a Tiranga Rally in Pulwama Town. The rally was led by DC Pulwama Basharat Qayoom along with SSP Pulwama PD Nitya-IPS.

The rally witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, citizens, and officials, all united in their display of patriotism and love for the nation. Participants carried the national flag and banners, symbolizing their commitment to the country.

Officials said these rallies promote a sense of pride and respect for the national flag.

Senior officers of the police and civil administration, including deputy commissioners and superintendents of police, led these rallies, and hundreds of people participated in them, they added.

The officials said such rallies and other events will continue as part of the Independence Day celebrations in Jammu and Kashmir.
