Houseboat owner booked for hiding British national

Srinagar: A British national was sent to a quarantine facility while his host in Srinagar has been booked for hiding the foreigner.

Reports said that a houseboat owner was hiding and hosting the British national since March 15

The foreigner was spotted by a police official. During questioning, he admitted that he reached to Valley via Srinagar-Jammu Highway and had managed to skip the Foreigner Registration Offices of both Jammu and Kashmir Tourism and police in Srinagar.

The houseboat owner according to media reports also admitted that he was hosting him since March 15.

The foreigner was immediately taken to the hospital for checkup where his condition was stated to be stable and was directed to remain in quarantine.

Meanwhile, an FIR vide number 45/2020 was registered at Nehru Park police station under sections 269 and 188 of IPC in this regard. (KNT)
