Ahemdabad:The historic Sarkhej Roza came alive with the spirit of unity and brotherhood during the “Ishq-e-Iftar – Heritage Iftar” programme held in the city.
The nearly 500-year-old dargah of the revered 15th-century Sufi saint Hazrat Sheikh Ahmed Khattu Ganj Baksh served as the venue for the event, symbolising India’s rich composite culture and Ganga-Jamuni Tehzeeb. The programme was jointly organised by Safar-e-Virasat and Advocate Gulmoin Khokhar of the Gujarat High Court.
The event witnessed the presence of several distinguished guests, including Amitbhai Thaker, Dr. Mahboob Qureshi, Zainul Abedin Ansari, and Reshma Ben Kathi. All guests were felicitated with mementoes, trophies, and certificates of appreciation.
Speakers on the occasion highlighted the timeless teachings of the Sufi saint, emphasising love, equality, peace, brotherhood, and humanity. The gathering also reflected on the historical, architectural, and spiritual significance of Sarkhej Roza, one of Ahmedabad’s most treasured heritage sites.
The programme concluded with a strong message that Sarkhej Roza continues to stand as a living symbol of unity and harmony. The organisers received appreciation from attendees, who expressed hope for more such heritage initiatives in the future.
