Govt forms panel to examine seniority of KAS officers

Srinagar, Mar 2: Jammu and Kashmir Government on Monday constituted a committee to examine the seniority issue of the members of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service in a time-bound manner.

The four-member panel has been tasked to examine in detail the seniority issue of the members of the Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service, appointed to the Time Scale of Jammu and Kashmir Administrative Service from 1 January 2004 to 1 December 2008.

The panel has been also asked to work out the possible options for finalizing the seniority list on a “normative basis.”

The committee comprises of Commissioner Secretary to the Government, School Education Department, Secretary Department of Disaster Management, Relief, Rehabilitation and Reconstruction, Secretary General Administration Department and Secretary Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs. The Committee has been asked to submit its report by the end of this month. (GNS)
