Kulgam, Dec 28: A two-year-old girl lost her life while three other members of a family were hospitalized due to suffocation caused by a charcoal fire pot used for heating at Ves Batapora area of Kulgam district, officials reported.
An official said a family, originally nomads from Ramban and currently living as tenants in Ves Batapora, suffered suffocation during the night due to the use of a charcoal fire pot indoors.
The family of four out of five was rushed to PHC Mohammadpora by police, health officials, and the local administration. However, the two-year-old girl, identified as Aadita Jan, daughter of Nissar Ahmad from Ramban, was declared dead upon arrival at the health center.
