Srinagar, May 01: Hurriyat Conference (G) chairman, Syed Ali Geelani on Tuesday paid heartfelt tributes to slain Drubgam Pulwama youth, including Sameer Ahmad Bhat @Tiger, Aaqib Ahmad Wani and teenager Shahid Ahmad Bhat.
“Our youth lay their lives to end the age-old slavery of their nation & putting a huge responsibility on our shoulders to honor these sacrifices and take the movement to its logical end,” Geelani said in a statement.
Geelani in his telephonic address to mourners at Sameer Bhat’s funeral said, “Our youth are sacrificing their present for the betterment of our tomorrow.”
Referring to holy verses of Quran, Geelani said that “Allah states; and do not think of those killed in Allah’s path as dead: indeed they are alive and receive their sustenance from their Lord. They rejoice in the bounty provided by Allah.”
“We should never barter their sacrifices for petty material gains like employment and development and never should we extend our support to those showering bullets and pellets,” he said.
Geelani in his address urged people to boycott upcoming elections, saying that it provides Indian leadership opportunity to mislead world community.
He said those few people who vote in election were not only committing an act of treason; their actions were also acting as oxygen for the Indian occupation of Kashmir. “We need to be aware of this and we are duty bound to safe guard their sacrifices and refrain from such activities which may prove counterproductive for our movement. Geelani in a telephonic address to mourners in Pulwama said that any flaw or any type of support to puppets is misrepresented in international flora by Delhi,” he said.
Geelani while referring New Delhi and local politicians said that Indian leadership is suffering from power of arrogance and carrying massacre and bloodshed in state.
Referring to arrogance of Indian leadership, Geelani said that since past seven decades they are carrying brutal massacre in Jammu and Kashmir, however people while braving bullets and bullying are pursuing their sacred mission of freedom with dedication and commitment.
Referring to resolutions accepted in UNO, Geelani said that 18 resolutions were accepted and India and Pakistan are signatory to these resolutions that people of state will be provided an opportunity to decide their political destiny, saying India has given commitment to people of Kashmir that people of J&K would be given the right to self-determination, he added.
Geelani in his address to mourners asked to repose faith in Almighty Allah and follow mission with dedication and avoid all differences.
