Srinagar: Once again, the incident-free G20 event has highlighted the improved security situation in Jammu and Kashmir.

This was the first time that there were no security restrictions or inconveniences for the people, despite hosting a major international event. There were no internet shutdowns or traffic disruptions, and life in Kashmir continued normally.

Under the leadership of the Lieutenant Governor and the security apparatus, the administration ensured a peaceful atmosphere without causing any inconvenience to the public.

Recognizing the hard work of the personnel on the ground, ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar congratulated them for successfully conducting the G20 summit without any incidents.

Quoting Kumar, the Kashmir Zone police tweeted: “ADGP Kashmir congratulated officers and jawans of JKP, CRPF, Army, BSF, SSB, NSG, MARCOS, NDRF & intelligence agencies for conducting an incident-free & successful G20 Summit.”

The third meeting of the G20 Tourism Working Group commenced on May 22 at the Sher-i-Kashmir International Conference Center (SKICC). The first meeting of the Working Group took place in February in the Rann of Kutch, Gujarat, while the second meeting was held from April 1 to 3 in Siliguri, West Bengal.

The G20 comprises Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, the Republic of Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Türkiye, the United Kingdom, the United States, and the European Union. It represents 85% of global GDP, 75% of international trade, and two-thirds of the world’s population.
