Four arrested over murder of missing Sopore goldsmith

Sopore, Jan 8: Sopore police has solved a murder mystery case of a goldsmith by arresting four accused persons involved in the crime.
Sopore police received a complaint that a shopkeeper namely Tariq Ahmad Malik son of Ghulam Rasool Malik resident of Kalaroose Kupwara at present Baba Yousuf Sopore is missing from 26th of December 2017. Accordingly a missing report was lodged and a SIT was constituted to investigate the case.
During the course of investigation, Sopore police cracked the case by using technical and human recourses and it came to fore that the said person has been kidnapped and murdered by four persons who were identified as Mohammad Sajad Lara son of Mohammed Afzal Lara, Mohammad Adil Lara son of Mohammed Afzal Lara residents of Muslimpeer Sopore, Ghulam Mohammed Lara son of Ghulam Qadir Lara and Nayeem Ahmad Lara son of Ghulam Mohammed Lara residents of Ashpeer Sopore.
During further investigation it also came to know that the motive of these people was to extort gold and money from the Goldsmith Tariq Ahmad Malik who was having a Goldsmith shop (Karatline Jewelery Shop) situated at Chota Bazar Sopore. These persons with the sole motive of extortion kidnapped Tariq Ahmad on 26 December 2017 in the evening hours and killed him on spot by strangulation and then disposed off his dead body by throwing in River Jhelum. The vehicle used in the commission of crime has also been seized.
Besides, Gold worth lacs and some cash has been recovered from the accused persons. A case FIR number 09/2018 under section 364/RPC has already been registered and investigation has been taken up.
