Srinagar, Feb 14: The Drug and Food Control Organisation intensified inspections across Srinagar, cracking down on food safety violations in Hazratbal and Makhdoom Sahib areas. Led by Assistant Commissioner Food Safety Srinagar, Yameen-ul-Nabi, the team found several food business operators using artificial colors in Kashmiri snacks, which were immediately destroyed.
Vendors were also warned against poor hygiene, and roadside stalls near drains were directed to shut down. Authorities have vowed strict action, including facility closures, under the Food Safety and Standards Act. Consumers can report unsafe food via the toll-free number 104.
