‘Fly Dining’: Come April, Kashmir will charm tourists with its first hanging restaurant

February 15, 2023

Srinagar:  Come, enjoy a sumptuous meal at Kashmir’s first hanging restaurant.

`Fly Dining’ in Srinagar’s Shalimar will be thrown to the public this spring.

At a height of 160-200 feet, the restaurant is suspended in the air with the help of a crane.

Owners said the restaurant can accommodate at least 24 people at a time. People can experience meals in the air with the mighty Zabarwan mountain range in the backdrop.

“We have completed the entire process of setting up this unique restaurant in Srinagar. Fly Dining has a franchise in many states of India. Here the height of the restaurant has been kept between 160-200 feet so that guests get a better view of the city while having mouthwatering cuisines,” said Mohammad Sultan Dar, co-owner of the restaurant.

Dar has collaborated with his two friends Khurshid Ahmad Kar and Waseem Ahmad Wani to set up this facility.

“I required a kanal of land and a crane for lift. Right now we are developing a beautiful garden for the restaurant.  We want our guests should feel a Europe-like experience in Kashmir,” he said.

Dar said the restaurant will open to the public in April. “We have completed almost every formality for setting up the restaurant. We plan to throw it open in  April when the weather will be relatively better with greenery everywhere in the surrounding,” he said.

Dar said they are getting a huge response from the people as well as the tourists.

“We are getting inquiries from the people regarding the opening of the restaurant. Even people call us for booking tables. We are sure that people will love this concept and will enjoy dining up in the sky,” he said.
