Five Injured as Vehicle Skids Off Road in South Kashmir

Srinagar, June 3: At least five people sustained injuries after the vehicle they were traveling in met with an accident near Sinthan Top in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district on Tuesday.

According to officials, the Alto car was on its way from Kishtwar when the driver lost control near Sinthan Top, leading to the mishap. All five injured passengers were initially taken to PHC Larnoo for first aid and later referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for specialized treatment.

The injured have been identified as Mukhtar Ahmad Rather, son of Gh. Rasool Rather from Verinag who was also driving the vehicle; Umer Farooq, son of Farooq Ahmad Rather from Mominabad, Doru; Faizan Ahmad Shah, son of Abdul Rashid Shah from Behibagh, Kulgam; Amir Ahmad Mir, son of Gh. Qadir Mir from Kamar; and Wasim Ahmad Shergojri, son of Mohd. Shaban Shergojri from Nowgam, Verinag.

Meanwhile, police have taken cognizance of the incident and initiated necessary proceedings.
