Srinagar, Mar 12: A purported order regarding the transfer of senior police officers in Jammu and Kashmir has been circulating on social media for the past two days. However, police sources have confirmed that the order is fake and no such transfers have been approved.
Officials clarified that the alleged directive, which claims a reshuffle of officers within the AGMUT cadre, has led to unnecessary speculation. Reliable sources within the police department have dismissed the report as baseless, urging the public not to fall for misinformation.
“The order in circulation is completely fake. No such transfers have been made,” a senior police official said, speaking on condition of anonymity. The official also cautioned against the spread of unverified information, emphasizing that only official notifications from the Home Department should be considered authentic.
Authorities have urged social media users to avoid sharing misleading content and rely only on verified sources for information.
