Bhopal, Apr 19: Narendra Yadav, also known as N. John Camm, has been remanded to judicial custody till May 1 in Madhya Pradesh’s Damoh district, following the end of his police remand in a high-profile case involving fake medical credentials and multiple suspicious deaths.

Yadav is accused of conducting cardiac surgeries despite lacking proper qualifications. Seven out of fifteen patients he allegedly operated on died under unclear circumstances, sparking public outcry and a full-fledged investigation.

His lawyer, Sachin Nayak, confirmed that a bail plea will be filed on Monday in the Sessions Court, citing the completion of police questioning. Yadav was briefly hospitalized due to high blood pressure but was returned to jail custody shortly after.

A viral video showing his hospital admission has further intensified scrutiny. His legal team requested access to his mobile phone and court appearance via video call, but the prosecutor objected, noting the phone is under forensic examination.

Yadav insists he is innocent and claims his qualifications are valid, adding that his family is currently abroad. He expressed trust in the judicial process.

In response to the controversy, Damoh CMHO Mukesh Jain revoked the license of Mission Hospital and sealed its Cath Lab where Yadav operated. A formal complaint filed on April 6 triggered the police investigation, which has since led to the complete closure of the hospital.

Yadav is also accused of impersonating a European cardiologist by using the alias “N. John Camm,” a move that has deepened the scandal.
