A video of three bear cubs climbing a tree and breaking it off is going viral in Kashmir with netizens claiming it is from Kashmir.

The video shows three bear cubs climbing atop a tree (that people in Kashmir claim is a poplar tree).

As the bears move up, the tree dangles sideways, snapping in the middle, with the three cubs crashing down.

The Kashmir Monitor did a reverse image search and found the video is not from Kashmir.

It was first uploaded on a Russian Telegram channel ‘Boris‘ which said the video is from Nyurbinsky District in the Sakha Republic of Russia.

The video was uploaded on the Telegram channel on August 1 and has over 250,000 views on it.

The incident was also reported by a lesser-known portal oopstop.com.

After being uploaded on the Telegram channel, the video made its way to Twitter and Facebook.

In Kashmir, the video is being shared widely on social media pages.

In fact, one Facebook page by the name Horticulture Updates Pulwama, which has over 60,000 followers, uploaded the video with the caption “Three bears climb a poplar tree somewhere in Kashmir and watch the tragic end”.
