Srinagar: Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Saturday said the Centre has designated 23 dreaded terror operatives as individual terrorists under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), reaffirming the Narendra Modi government’s commitment to a policy of zero tolerance against terrorism.

In a post on X, HMO wrote, “Pursuing Modi Ji’s vision of zero tolerance against terror, the MHA today declared 23 dreaded terror functionaries as terrorists under the provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention).”

The decision was taken in pursuance of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of eliminating terrorism and dismantling terror infrastructure operating against India, post reads.

He said the designated terrorists are involved in anti-India activities, including carrying out terror attacks, inciting violence, trafficking arms, facilitating cross-border infiltration, supporting terrorist organisations, raising funds and recruiting terrorists.

According to Shah, 17 of the 23 designated terrorists are Pakistani nationals, while six are Indian nationals. He said all of them are currently operating terrorist activities from Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK).

“The Modi government is determined to rip apart every terror module to shield India and its people,” Shah said, reiterating the Centre’s resolve to take stringent action against terrorism and its support networks.
