Srinagar, May 21: The Jammu and Kashmir Board of School Education (JKBOSE) on Wednesday announced a revised academic schedule, officially restoring the traditional March-November academic session across Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh Union Territories, starting from 2025.
In a formal notification, the board clarified that the decision brings back the earlier academic calendar, impacting both winter and summer zones differently.
For students in the Kashmir Division, winter zone areas of Jammu Division, and Ladakh, the academic session will now run from March to November. As a result, Annual Regular Examinations for classes 9th, 10th, 11th, and 12th in these regions will be held in October-November 2025.
Meanwhile, in the summer zone of Jammu Division, the academic session will follow the 2025-26 schedule, with annual regular examinations for the same classes set to take place in February-March 2026.
JKBOSE officials said this move is aimed at streamlining the academic calendar to align with climatic and logistical conditions across the Union Territories.
The board emphasized that this change takes immediate effect and urged schools, students, and parents to take note of the revised timelines for planning and preparation.
